LAX hotel

Hi, I need help with deciding on a hotel near the airport for one night before we fly out at 8.30am to Honlulu. We are travelling from San Simeon and are dropping off a car at the airport so need accommodation close by for 2 adults and 2 children. Any recommendations? Thanks

There are many chains to choose from, all with shuttles. It%26#39;s just a matter of budget

Bidding on Priceline will get you the best deal. 3-4 star hotels by LAX can be won for $70-80. Hotwire.com is another option. Everything in the LAX area comes with shuttle service to LAX.

If you have time to go out to dinner and walk around the day you arrive in LA, you should consider staying in Santa Monica or Manhattan Beach. LAX is not a walkable area like those. If you are dropping your car off at an LAX car rental office, they offer free hotel shuttles as well.

Hi, Thanks to both of you. We are actually starting our 4 week holiday in Los Angeles at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel for 5 nights before we move on to Anaheim, Las Vegas, San Francisco and then down the coast back to LA for a night before we fly out to Honolulu. I have one other question - how do we get from our Hollywood hotel to where we are staying at the Grand Californian Disneyland Hotel? I have been looking at different shuttle services eg. super shuttle and prime time shuttle but these seem to only pick up from the airport. Any suggestions? Thanks

Check the Lux Bus.

Here%26#39;s the link to Lux Bus:

Note: the cost for 2 adults + 2 children will be $90. It would be a lot less expensive to hire a car for the 1 hour drive and you could use the car to stop off at locations in between. if you wanted. Another disadvantage to Lux Bus is that they pickup only twice a day: at 7:30 am or at 3:00 pm -- which might not be convenient for you.

Four POints Sheraton was renovated last year, close to the airport and good shuttle, and not as expensive as Sheraton Gateway LAX.

If you%26#39;d rather be right at the marina, try FoghornHotel.com, and you can eat next door at the Cheesecake Factory.

You don%26#39;t wanna stay at the Renaissance for 4 nights without a car. Even though parking at the Renaissance is probably expensive....by the time you pay for the airport shuttle service to the hotel and then the shuttle to Anaheim, as well as cabs around town and bus and metro fares, the price of the car and parking won%26#39;t be much more.

Renaissance Hollywood is actually one of the best places to stay without a car in LA since it%26#39;s right next to the metro stop (to Downtown and Universal) and many convenient bus connections. A cab is from LAX is $50 - it%26#39;s not that much for 4 people. And they always have an option of taking the Flyaway bus to Union Station for $4 each from LAX and then the metro to Hollywood and Highland. However, for 4 people, $50 is not that much more to pay for the convenience.
