Staybridge Suites vs. Homewood Suites (location & traffic)

Hello All,

I tried searching for an answer to my quaestion I was unable to find a definitive answer. I%26#39;m coming to San Diego in mid March for 4 nights. My group consists 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 4 and 10).

I plan on visiting Seaworld, Wild Animal Park, Legoland and a nice mall or two (any recommendation on nice malls is appreciated)) and I%26#39;m not sure which Hotel is the best option between Staybridge Sorento Mesa, Staybridge Rancho Bernardo, and Homewood Suites Del-Mar (Liberty Station does not have availability for my dates).

I%26#39;m concerned about the distance as I read comments about all 3 of these hotels being somewhat ';out of the way'; and I%26#39;m also concerned about traffic as I will be there Sunday - Thursday and some of the comments talked about traffic issues.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken

Out of those 3 I%26#39;d take the Homewood suites Del Mar an dmaybe keep checking Liberty Station for cancellations.

Have you also checked Embassy Suites Lajolla

OR Residence Inns throughout the city??

THANK YOU!!

I did take a look at Residence Inn and Embassy but they cost over $100 more per night for comparable accomodations (Ressidence Inn only has 2 bedroom suites available...I%26#39;m looking for a 1 bedroom suite). Also, I see I would have to pay for parking for those places as well.

You%26#39;ll be fine. You%26#39;ll probably leave in the morning after rush hour. It will be OK.

Near Legoland in Carlsbad there%26#39;s an outlet mall if you like.NOt far from your hotel is the University Town Center Mall(UTC)which also has an indoor ice skating rink.

I%26#39;m not from the area, but I have reservations at the new Homewood Suites in Carlsbad for mid-Feb. I think the price for a 1 bdrm suite is around $159 a night. From what I%26#39;ve heard it%26#39;s only a few miles from Legoland, but about 30 miles from SeaWorld. The photos on the Hilton website look nice, and the price is about the same for the standard rooms at the new Hampton across the street. Hope that helps!
