Taking a brief tour of So Cal with the kids -
Would Huntington be the best - do you think?
Where should we stay there?
I%26#39;ve heard there%26#39;s atleast one nice resort there - right on the beach - is it worth it????
Best Beach? Where to Stay?
Huntington beach does not have hotels on the beach. They are across the street from the beach. The coastline is nothing but coastline and parkinglots for beach goers. If you must stay on a beach, look into Laguna Beach which is drop dead gorgeous. Newport Beach has houses on the boardwalks of the beach..try vrbo.com . There are hotels but if you chose a hotel, I would choose Laguna Beach over Newport Beach..just my opinion.
Best Beach? Where to Stay?
Huntington Beach - Both the Huntington Beach Hilton Hotel and the Hyatt Regency are both very nice We%26#39;ve stayed at the Huntington Beach Hilton. Nice ocean views from the room; easy (very easy) walk to the ocean. Good ocean for enjoying. Kids will like it too - its family friendly. Its also close drive to attractions such as Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland and others.(i.e. closer than Laguna Beach will be.).
Is it worth it depends on part on your family - if you plan just to stay aroundt he resort, yes. If you are using it just for sleeping and are touring about to go to other places all day long, than you may be able to find more reasonable places elsewhere.
The Hyatt in Huntington Beach is gorgeous and HB is perfect with kids. We liked it so much, we bought a summer home there! Because there are no holtels directly on the beach, there are no obstructed views, but the Hyatt has a ';bridge'; that takes you right to the beach. Stay there, you will not regret it! Also, they often have a half price deal for the second room OR rooms with 2 queen beds so that 4 can stay in one room.
