What to do What to do

I have minimal understanding of the Napa Valley etc... I have a few quesitons. One, could we stay in Napa and still enjoy San Fran or should we also book rooms in San Fran? What types of tours or activites do you guys recommend? It will be my wife and I.

Thanks

Dependent on traffic it is a 60 minute to 90 minute drive from Napa to San Francisco and return. If you want to stay in one spot and do both; it depends on your preference if San Francisco or Napa would be most fun for you. If Napa, I would stay in Napa (versus further up the valley so your drive would be less.). I like best western elm house inn....or one of the bed and breakfasts. There are other lodging choices of course in Napa. Do note the following: There is ferry service from Vallejo (a short drive from Napa) which you can also take into San Francisco for sight-seeing. this is a fun way also to get out on the water.http://www.baylinkferry.com/

Also, it depends how much time you have...let%26#39;s say you ahve 5 or 6 days, I%26#39;d probably split it 4-2; or 3-3. etc. depending on what you want to do, see. Both places have fabulous restaurants; with San Francisco of course having much more night life, so if that is important to you that might also be a factor.

Alcatraz, Fisherma Wharf, Union Square, museums, shopping and if into sports, sporting events, are all fun to see.

In Napa, its an easy drive also to Sonoma.

To better help, tell us a bit more about yourselves and what you like to do.

Enjoy planing your trip.

Thanks that was great info and insight. We will be in town June 16-21 and doing exactly that a split. However, I do not know where to lay stock. My wife really enjoys wine esp. white wines and the Napa Valley will be the highlight of the trip. I really want to see the bridge etc.. However, I really do not know how long we should stay in San Fran. How many days both Napa and San Fran need to get what we are looking for. I am not looking to take up residents, however I would like enought time to sight see, eat, and drink. There is a lot of info on tripadvisor to help us, however the idea of Napa longer or San Fran longer seems to be the question I am looking for help with.

Thanks in advance
