Various Beaches and Hotels

I know this is a question that has been asked too many times, but here goes.

My husband and I are bringing my 13 year old niece to California in August. I was curious as to what everyone thinks are the best beaches and beach hotels.

I guess I should add that I have looked at the following:

Huntington Beach Hyatt

Newport Beach Marriott Coastal Villa

Santa Monica Le Merigot Marriott

Any and all suggestions are appreciated for what you consider the best beaches and hotel locations, etc.

Thanks again!

Various Beaches and Hotels

Huntington Beach Hyatt - Definitely a winner; good location to Huntington Beach; pretty property; its important to have a car to get to other places in Orange County, but you;ll like this place (note: Hilton Hotel next door is also nice.)

For a condo experience Newport Beach Coastal Villa is quite nice. However, its not walkable to the beach and is more high up. So from a location perspective Huntington Beach Hyatt is nicer. However, I tend to sometimes like to have condo (and cooking facilities) and sometimes not....so if you want cooking facilities, this place is nice.

With a 13 year old - she might be more interested in Huntington Beach. Closer to the theme parks, more fun, and clsoe to Laguna Beach, etc. I%26#39;d opt for this for a family friendly place.

Santa Monica to Malibu is quite beautiful, but is much more ';city'; life. Since you%26#39;re coming from Indiana (some of my relatives live there, I think she%26#39;d have a fun time in Orange County.

However, if the places you want to see besides the beach, Santa Monica can be nice place to stay.

From your list, I%26#39;d go with Hyatt Regency if in your price range; or the Hilton next door.
