Need opinions about spending time in Disneyland around Christmas time. Has anyone gone at this time. Is it worthwile and is everything open? I was wanting to take our grandkids ages 4-9. Do any of the hotels have indoor pools?
Christmas at Disneyland - HELP
We were in Disneyland on Dec. 5 and everything was beautifully adorned for the holidays. Everything was open, It%26#39;s A Small World was done with a holiday theme, also.
I would consider The Grand Californian for your stay, there is no indoor pool here but the outdoor pool is nicely heated and there is a jacuzzi, also. The Disnyeland Hotel is another one of our favorite places to stay in the area but no indoor pool here, either.
It was t-shirt weather when we visited, very nice weather for us, we were also in Southern CA the year before and stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Del Coronado, again, we had marvelous beach weather and we were sunning and lounging by the pool mid-morning in San Diego. Enjoy your time in Disneyland, Christmas is my favorite time to visit. We were there in a Wed. and the crowds were very manageable, with just about 10 mintues waits on the majority of the rides, about 40 minutes for Finding Nemo. :)
Christmas at Disneyland - HELP
We were also there the first week of December and absolutely loved it. The crowds are small and the weather is nice...although it did rain on us quite a bit, but it was still nice! The Disney owned hotels don%26#39;t have indoor pools. Some of the good neighbor hotels might. You%26#39;ll save A LOT of money staying at one of these too. The closer to Christmas it gets the busier the parks get. Have fun planning!
We live about a mile away from DLand and have been lifelong fans. Christmas is a great time to visit, as Dland shows it best for the holiday spirit. Most of the rides are up and running (most maintenance is done Oct. through Nov. and then Jan. through May based upon personal experience). Also, it begins to get a bit more crowded as the New Year approaches due to an influx of out of town guests coming to see the Rose Bowl, Parade, etc. So anytime before or immediately after Christmas is fine.
Indoor pool? This is Southern California! We don%26#39;t believe in indoor pools - actually, the prior comment about outdoor, heated pools is very accurate. The Hilton Towers, just across the street from DLand, has a very nice pool area with several spas.
You will have a great time.
Christmas is my favorite time of year at Disneyland. They pull out every bit of magic they have and sprinkle it all over the park.
The Ahaheim Hilton Suites has an indoor and outdoor pool and really good rates. We like to stay there as the hotel is very nice, clean, friendly, and we like the indoor pool. You would need a car, it is one exit down the freeway from Disneyland.
Note - the Anahiem Hilton and the Anaheim Hilton Suites are two different hotels. The first is on Convention way and does not have an indoor pool. This is across the street from Disneyland. The Suites is off of State College and is one exit away (about 5 mintues by car). This one has both indoor and outdoor pools.
