Have had a look at other posts and see there are a couple of shuttle possibilities but BART looks OK too. It will be on a Sunday arriving and seems to be a reduced schedule. We are a couple of mobile seniors but don%26#39;t want to have to lug luggage up and down a lot of stairs. Looks like BART would involve a transfer at some point - OK with taking taxi for part of it. The shuttles seem a little complex re booking/finding etc. Suggestions appreciated (not necessarily looking for cheapest option).
Will be flying to San Diego from Oakland later in week so suggestions on getting from Downtown Berkeley Inn to airport also welcomed.
Getting from SF Airport to downtown Berkeley
BART has elevators and escalators so you can take BART if you use these methods to get up and down to/from platforms

Getting from SF Airport to downtown Berkeley
On Sundays it requires 2 transfers to get from SFO to downtown Berkeley. The trains run about every 20 minutes and the transfers are
generally ';timed'; which means that there isn%26#39;t a lot of time to wait on transfers. If you decide to use BART: board a Dublin/Pleasanton Train at SFO, transfer to a Pittsburg/Baypoint train at Balboa Park and then transfer to a Richmond train at 12th street Oakland. To print a schedule and see a system map go to: www.bart.gov
Thank you. Once flights booked in January will phone shuttle service for details as looks a little more user-friendly than BART even if a little more expensive.
I think the shuttle is a good option for you - both ways, and for many reasons. The only time in my life I%26#39;ve ever felt ';in danger'; was at a Berkeley Bart Station. To this day I am convinced that if I hadn%26#39;t acted very ';street smart';, running to the ticket booth when someone approached me fast, I would have been mugged at least.
