Teenagers with us!

I am coming to LA in July for 5 nights with my husband , a daughter who will turn 18 whilst there, and a 14 year old son. I need a recommendation for a good night out for the 18th birthday. I am thinking of a lively restaurent etc or something that she will remeber for a long time!

Cheers. Sheena

What part of town will you be staying at?

We cant really tell you about a great spot if you would have to drive an hour to get there.

The Comedy and Magic Club (in Hermosa Beach)is a great spot for a lively night out. The comedy is pretty clean (so you don%26#39;t have to worry about that), and you can have dinner (and drinks for the parents!), too. Jay Leno performs there every Sunday night.

It%26#39;s important to know where you are staying, if you have a car, how far you want to travel, what kind of scene you%26#39;re looking for, and what kind of cuisine. And, budget.

LA if filled with amazing restaurants that serve memorable meals, with great scenes. It%26#39;s just a matter of what part of town.

Doh! Sorry about that. Bit bemused about the places to stay as well. Thinking about Santa Monica.

Santa Monica has some great restaurants although i would not call them lively. Maybe the Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel, a little pricy but amazing views and maybe a celeb or two...

Otherwise there are plenty of restaurants in the Hollywood area that would fit the bill

Perhaps you could recommend somewhere in Hollywood, we are happy to drive.

What does your daughter like? If it%26#39;s a lively place with a bar, you will probably not be able to stay there past 9pm since the kids are underage. Does she like dancing shows? There are several Brazilian and other Latin restaurants with shows that could be fun for her. There is Medieval Times if she%26#39;s into that. If she%26#39;s into celebrities and expensive upscale restaurants, there is plenty of that in LA, though you may have to be done by 9pm. I wouldn%26#39;t call most of them ';lively'; though. What do you mean by that? That there are a lot of people there or there is some kind of entertainment? There are also great restaurants with good views if that%26#39;s enough.
