I%26#39;m staying in Hollywood area and looking for a live music bar e.g. jazz or other (we%26#39;re in our late 30%26#39;s). Would we need to go to West Hollywood?

Check out www.laweekly.com the week you%26#39;re here to see what%26#39;s playing where. If you%26#39;re only looking for Jazz specifically, it will be a bit harder to find. If you%26#39;re ok with indie, rock, etc, there are many more options to choose from in the area. Hotel Cafe in Hollywood often has great performers. In West Hollywood on Sunset Strip, check out schedules for the Viper Room, Whiskey, Roxy, Rainbow Room, House of Blues, etc.

There is also Safari Sam on Sunset Blvd, but i think they cater a little more to the younger crowd. Catalina Room is excellent for what you are looking for?

When will you be visiting Los Angeles? If it is in the summer, please also look into the Hollywood Bowl. They have some great Jazznights(amazing) on wednesday nights
