Weather in early June

We will be in San Diego the first week in June. How warm will it be and will the water still be really cold? We are from Texas, so we are use to being hot and are kinda wimps with cooler weather. Will we need wet suits for the water?

Thanks!

The weather in June usually isn%26#39;t that great, we call it June Gloom. The air temperature will probably be in the mid to upper 60%26#39;s, and the water will probably be in the low to mid-60%26#39;s. Wetsuits definitely aren%26#39;t necessary, but a lot of people still wear them in June.

JUne gloom is when there are low lying clouds along the coast.Often if you drive inland to palces like the zoo or th eWild Animal Park it is sunny while at the beach it is gray.Southern California is not hot like Florida and I wouldn%26#39;t swim in the ocean at that time but I%26#39;d swim in a nice heated pool. Thesurgers oftne use wet suits but I don%26#39;t know regular swimmers who do that. The folks who swim year round in the ocean are tough!!
