Hi all -
Going to be in LA next week for family stuff and then driving with my husband to San Diego for 3 days for our own little getaway. I saw somewhere on here a mention that the drive is not great...can anyone recommend a nice, scenic route, even cool places to stop are good. We will be leaving LA around 2PM on Sunday, and have no reason to rush to San Diego. Thanks!
Driving from LA to San Diego
Depending on where you leave from in LA - the drive is only 2 - 2.5 hours. You can cut across to the coast and drive through some of the beach communities - but you%26#39;ll hit beach traffic and traffic lights, etc... Laguna Beach is a nice detour - it%26#39;s a cute artsy beach town - nice place to stop, stroll and have a drink and bite to eat.

Where in LA are you starting from and WHERE in SanDiego are you ending??
We are starting from N. Highland Avenue near Melrose (Pizzeria Mozza) in LA, and probably going to be staying at the Marriott Mission Valley.
