Bar/activity suggestions?

My husband and I are making plans for our 1 year wedding anniversary in early June, and we%26#39;re strongly considering returning to San Diego. We%26#39;ve been there once, late in 2005, at the end of a 10 day Cali Coastline vacation so we were pretty tired by then. We%26#39;ve done Sea World and the zoo, and I was wondering what people would suggest for a 5 day trip, and for nightlife. We spent time in Gaslamp (stayed at the Omni) and some of the bars we went to made me feel soooo old and don%26#39;t want a college scene. What do people suggest for a couple in their late 20s? Thanks!

Definately try the new jazz/supper club in Little Italy called Anthology (www.anthologysd.com). Classy, great live music, superb venue...and not the college scene

La Jolla! It has nice clubs that fit the older crowd!

Agree with Anthology.

In La Jolla, you should check out Jack%26#39;s--multilevel restaurant and bar. Also George%26#39;s at the Cove and Pasquales would be good choices--30+ crowd in these places....you can also check out Del Mar on the weekend, especially Poseidon (right on the beach) and Del Mar Plaza....Gaslamp caters to conventioneers and 20 somethings (esp. young 20 somethings) on the weekend.

Check to see if there is an interesting act at Humphrey%26#39;s -- eat elsewhere but this is a great concert venue.

I second the La Jolla scene and pls. look into Del Mar--- seaside less college crowd but still has bars and great restaurants.
