I%26#39;m planning a trip to Sonoma around 18th March and need a place to stay for a week. Can anyone recommend a clean and decent bed and breakfast, or guest house for a budget of around $75 per night? Alternatively is there a travelodge in the area? The nearest I can find is Napa.
Thanks

When you say Sonoma, are you needing to stay in the town of Sonoma or would lodging in Santa Rosa (about 30-40 min. away) be sufficient? $75 is an extremely low rate to try to find. It%26#39;s more in keeping with a hostel stay. Even $125 per night can be hard to find in the Sonoma Valley and by mid-March you normally can%26#39;t tap into low Winter rates anymore. However, there are a number of budget motels in Santa Rosa inc. Motel 6 and TraveLodge. Along Cleveland Ave. which parallels #101 there are a several choices and I think that under $100 is still possible.

Forestvillian is correct. It will be impossible to find anything in the Sonoma Valley for $75. Or probably anywhere in the wine country.
Here are some websites. The first two are for Magliulo%26#39;s Rose Garden, on Broadway in the town of Sonoma, walking distance to the Plaza. It is a smallish 1884 Victorian with four bedrooms, two with private bath.
The first is offering a room for $110 from yahoo travel. The second wants $135. We stayed here twice when everything else in town was full. The innkeeper does not live on the premises. The first time we stayed there we were told the key was in the mailbox. That time we actually had a cooked breakfast. The second time it was continental. That time we did not even see the innkeeper.
The place is perfectly comfortable but the charm touted on websites doesn%26#39;t exactly come through.
Since you are going in March you might be able to make a deal for a weekly rate with her. My sister is going in May for her high school reunion and this was the only place with a vacancy.

This I know nothing about, but found it googling. It may be interesting to you. Good luck.

Unfortunately, B%26amp;B%26#39;s in this country are not in the same price range as B%26amp;B%26#39;s in Britain! They are quite different and tend to be much more elaborate and expensive - not just houses with an extra bedroom or two. As mentioned above, Motel 6 would probably be the cheapest you could find within the general area.
But there is not a Motel 6 in Sonoma or anywhere near there. Nor a Travelodge. I think the Rose Garden is as close as we are going to get, unless the last link I put in works out. That one sounds really interesting.
Wow, I am stunned at the amount of replies I got. Thank you all so much! I am getting down to researching it today with the information you have given me. Once again, my sincere thanks to you all for your kind advice.
