Which hotel near Union Square?

We will be spending a few nights in San Francisco the last week of March. From what I%26#39;ve researched so far, I am interested in the following hotels: White Swann Inn; Campton Place; Inn at Union Square; Donnatello. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Campton Place is the most luxurious, White Swan is the place to stay if you want a ';B%26amp;B'; in the middle of the city and the Donatello is the place to stay if you want a decent value for your money in terms of what is offered over what you need without the luxury. I%26#39;m not really firmiliar enough with the Inn to comment.

All of the hotels you have chosen are quite different in my opinion. It really depends on what exactly you want out of oe.

Those are hotels in very different catagories. i don%26#39;t know how you came up with them.

Inn at Union Square is budget, Campton place is not. I do not know White Swann Inn, but as I remember from other posts it is more of a B %26amp; B. I have stayed at the Donatello and can recommend it. Large rooms, nice continental breakfast place on the top floor with two terraces.

But you should look into the Chancellor, as well.

I%26#39;m also wondering how you ended up with that list. I too am going to be in SF that week and we did a lot of research. We landed at the Orchard Hotel. Very highly rated and the location looks to be second to none. We%26#39;re really looking forward to it.

Thanks, everybody, for your great suggestions. I realize that I had been given bad info on Campton Place as it is waaay out of the price range. I ended up with the Inn at Union Square based on availability, but will remember these recommendations and check them out next time.

We stayed at the Donnatello last year and were very pleased. We travel a lot and are very picky but we both would stay there again. Great deal for the money and rooms are large and clean. Outstanding location too. Tried to book again for my upcoming trip but not available in mid aPRIL
