Taking my niece on spring break March 15-20,would like to visit a relative in San Diego and drive to ski area.We like nice accomodations, perhaps a spa,not concerned about night life.Any suggestions welcome..we would like slope side hotel or condo
Ski In and Out.Beg skiers,recomendation
The closest skiing to San Diego is Big Bear. Not many slope side options there - and it%26#39;s about a 3 hour drive from SD.
Mammoth is about 7 hours drive, also not many ski in and out options, just Mammoth Mtn Inn and a few condos across from Canyon Lodge. Look for lodging at visitmammoth.com for all Canyon Lodge area options.
Both have beginner slopes - Big Bear is much smaller and will be more condensed and crowded -- with a smaller base.
Ski In and Out.Beg skiers,recomendation
Mountian High might be an easier drive coming up the 15? No ski in/out there though.
Thank you for your replies.might fly to Tahoe
Your best shot may be to do a triangle from your TX starting point, including flying between San Diego and Reno. Then rent a car and drive up to Northstar from Reno.
Shouldn%26#39;t be expensive on Southwest if you give at least a couple of weeks advance notice (except that it%26#39;s spring break - so get to it now), the drive from Reno is short, and Northstar has what you%26#39;re looking for.
Great,thanks
