This is probably a silly question but where about is the Sunset Strip?? I have looked at a few maps but can only find Sunset Boulevard. I take it its around there?
Is the %26#39;strip%26#39; a good place to go for bars and clubs?
cheers
Sunset Strip
It%26#39;s a smallish stretch of Sunset Blvd - between Doheny and Crescent Heights (some say La Cienega). Lots of bars, restaurants, shops, clubs (most clubs are in Hollywood proper, Sunset Strip is West Hollywood).
Sunset Strip
Thanks
where is the best place to go out for something to eat then onto bar then clubbing? all with-in walking distance?
Also at the end of the night how easy is it to get a cab back to the hotel? does it have to be ordered? or can you just hail one?
The Sunset Strip is in West Hollywood, great bars and restaurants but no nightclubs per se if you are looking to dance. They have some rockclubs like the Whiskey or Roxy with live music but that%26#39;s bout it.
If you are looking to go out and dance, have drinks, walk from a restaurants to a bar and danceclub afterwards, Hollywood would be your best option as it is the place where all the action is in these days
If you%26#39;re looking for nightclubs, then Hollywood would be better. If you%26#39;re looking for lounges, bars, live music venues, more upscale neighborhood, outdoor cafes, etc, then West Hollywood is better. If you have more than one night, I would check out both for nightlife, but I would personally stay at a hotel in West Hollywood (especially if you%26#39;re older than 25 and prefer more upscale neighborhoods). It%26#39;s only 15 mins or so from one area to the other, so about a $15-20 cab ride.
Btw, there are places you can dance on Sunset Strip like SaddleRanch, the club at the Standard, Red Rock, etc.
There are cabs available on popular nights in both nightlife areas. You won%26#39;t need to call.
^ You sure you did not post this in 1998? Times have changed and so did areas. You might want to be aware of that
There are plenty of bars along Sunset Strip to keep you busy for more than one night or two. If you%26#39;re looking for a hotel in the area, I would recommend it over Hollywood, since most of the hotels have happening bar scenes, too.
I am sure. Are you sure you%26#39;ve been to Sunset Strip lately since you%26#39;re at the Hollywood clubs Tues-Sat nights?
Just as a sidebar: Is anybody old enough to remember the TV show; ';77 Sunset Strip';? Chuck...
