Need your help in planning my trip.
I am going to be travelling up the west coast of America in August or September starting off in LA then on to Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Pasco Robles and then San Jose. After that I can not make my mind up whether to go to San Francisco or Sacramento next. I was planning to stay in each city about 2 or 3 days, but I am going to be staying in San Francisco for 5 to 7 days.
Please could you let me know if 2 or 3 days is either for each city and is there anywhere else I should visit on my way on the coast.
One thing I should say is that I will most likely be travelling by train so this may limit on what I can do.
Some advise needed for my Californian Trip
You might want to post specific questions in the forums for those cities. Since you mention the train, I%26#39;m assuming you won%26#39;t have a car. In the case of San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, I%26#39;m wondering what you plan to see or do without a car. While the cities have shops and restaurants and each has an historic mission, the great attractions of are the surrounding wine country as well as Hearst Castle, but I%26#39;m not sure if any public transportation is available to these attractions. Sacramento has its old town and great railroad museum, but again, without a car I think 2 days is more than plenty for all of these cities except for San Francisco and Los Angeles. But of all the cities, only in San Francisco do you not need (or at least should have) a car.

I would spend an extra day or two in Los Angeles since it is such an enormous city. Honestly can%26#39;t imagine why you would visit Sacramento. Maybe add a day or two to Napa Valley?
