2 days in San Diego area

My husband and I along with our 18 (boy) and 21 yr old (girl)will be returning from a cruise on 3/13 and have 2 and half days in the San Diego / LA area. We have a car rented.

Of course they want to do the ';celebrity'; stuff...hollywood sign, hollywood walk of fame, Grauman%26#39;s (sp?) theatre, Kodak theatre, etc. Is there a celebrity homes tour that is better than others??

They would also like to maybe visit Venice beach, Malibu, Laguna Beach.

Too much for only 2 days?? Should we just stick to Disney or Universal studios??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

2 days in San Diego area

You do know that San Diego is at least 3 hours from LA? And not a particularly fun drive. If you%26#39;re planning to just to the LA/Disney/Universal stuff you%26#39;ll need to stay in LA, not San Diego.

2 days in San Diego area

yes, but thought if there were enough things to do then we%26#39;d make the drive. We%26#39;re back in San Diego from the cruise at 8am (Thursday) and don%26#39;t need to be back until 7:00pm (Sunday).

It sounds like all your interests are in LA/Orange County(2 more areas) so just stay up there. There is no LA/SanDiego area as they are 2 very separate distinct places.

IF you want to go to Disney then stay there and it will take a whole day. So then you have 1more day and I%26#39;d let the younguns decide what they want to do.

Forget the celebrity homes tour as all you see are driveways and walls.

As mentioned above, you are talking about three different city/metro areas. San Diego is over a three hour drive from LA. Orange county is just over two hours away from SD. LA has the hollywood walk of fame, Grumans Chinese Theater, Kodak Theatre, etc. Also, Venice beach, Malibu, and Laguna beaches are not close to each other. Venice is next to Santa Monica. Malibu is South of Calabasas (and the 101). Laguna beach is in Orange County, south of Anaheim.

Disneyland is in Orange County, as is Knott%26#39;s Berry Farm, and California Adventure. Universal Studios is in LA county between Hollywood and Burbank.

San Diego has the Zoo, Sea World, Wild Animal Park, Legoland (outside of San Deigo), amongst other things.

Your best bet is to chose one are and stay in that area. As going back and forth in two days will be difficult.

I forgot to mention that that doing Universal Studios one day and disneyland the next or vice versa is easy enough, but you really should forget about doing LA/Anaheim one day and SD the next or vice versa.

You should check out google maps and enter san diego, ca; los angles, ca; and anaheim, ca to get a better idea of how far apart they are from each other. Also enter in the places you are interested in going to plan out some kind of route that would get you around the best.

Good luck.

Did realize that they%26#39;re all different areas just didn%26#39;t know how far away from each other or what is really worth seeing with the limited time.

thanks for all the info. I%26#39;ll be sitting down with a map and the kids soon!! As long as it%26#39;s warmer than Minnesota I%26#39;m fine!! : )
