family of four looking for hotel

We%26#39;re a family of four (children ages 5 %26amp; 8) looking for a convenient, relatively affordable place to stay in San Francisco, preferably close to sites like Pier 39, Exploratorium, Etc.

Any ideas?

THanks!

As always posted in this forum, Union Square comes highly recommended. Stratford Hotel has a family room that is ideal for a family of four. It%26#39;s like a connecting room but a little more spacious with a queen bed and 2 doubles. This is in Union Square.

You can always take the cable car outside the hotel to go to Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf.

Just sharing my idea though.. :)

This question gets asked frequently. In addition to the aforementioned Hotel Fusion, try doing a search, using the words ';family'; and ';hotel'; or accomodation in the search field. The search field is located just above your original post, just below the green bar. Many hotel names will pop out.

Good luck.

Check out the Handlery club rooms. It should be exactly what you%26#39;re looking for. The location is central, though not at Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf. I think you should be pretty happy there based upon this post.

If you have children and want to go to Pier 39 and the Exploratorium (by the way-your whole family will LOVE the Exploratorium!), I would stay at Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf. Your kids would enjoy this area more than Union Square, and you can take a cable car to Union Square.

On the Wharf you%26#39;re right next to Pier 39 (check out the sea lions on Pier 39-the kids will love it), bay cruises and an Aquarium, and lots of family-friendly restaurants.

The Exploratorium is in the Marina District, next to the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts (be sure to cross Marina Blvd and get some fabulous views of the Golden Gate Bridge). This is an easy bus ride from the Wharf if you don%26#39;t have a car. Take the MUNI 47 bus from the Wharf then the #30 on Chestnut Street and you%26#39;ll be about a block from the Exploratorium.

I%26#39;ve stayed at both the Radisson and the Tuscan Inn on the Wharf and both were very nice, although the rooms at the Tuscan Inn were a bit on the small side. Generally I think all of the hotels on the Wharf are pretty nice and family-friendly.

Enjoy your trip!

We usually stay in Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf. Our last two trips I have got the Holiday Inn Express in Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf for under $125 a night each time.
