Where is Carlsbad, and what would you go there to see? Our children are 8 and 6? Is this where the outlet mall is?(Citadel) Sorry, never been to California and want to see so much, but not sure where everything is.
CarlsbadCarlsbad is in San Diego County about an hour-1 1/2 south of Disneyland. There you will find Legoland,beaches and an outlet mall BUT not the Citadel mall.
CarlsbadYour children are actually the perfect age for Legoland. A few years older and they%26#39;d probably not like it as much. A few years younger and they couldn%26#39;t enjoy as many attractions.
Carlsbad is about 30-40 minutes north of San Diego, so you could go on down to San Diego after stopping in Carlsbad if you wanted.
Carlsbad is actually a 45 min to an hour drive south of Disneyland (I make that drive regularly). Carlsbad Premium Outlet Mall is off of Hwy 5 and Cannon. The website has a list of the stores there:

Legoland is also off of Cannon and is geared towards kids 6 to 12 years old. www.legoland.com
There are lots of nice beaches. South Carlsbad State Beach, Tamarack Beach, and Ponto Beach that are not only great for walking and playing, but watching surfers.
Depending on when you are coming we also have the world famous Flower Fields. If you come the end of March through early May they are in full bloom. They are also off of Cannon and are located behind the Outlet mall. http://www.theflowerfields.com/

The Cidadel is actually in Commerce City, which is in LA County. Anaheim is in Orange County, which borders LA County to the south and east. Grayline Tours actually has a trips that go to the Cidedel, including one that goes to The Grove/Farmer’s Market in LA (next to CBS Television City) and then to the Cidadel.

A closer mall to Anaheim and one that is often suggested as a place to visit while on a Disneyland Trip is The Block at Orange. Not really an outlet mall, though. If you don’t have a rental car, bus transportation should be easy from an Anaheim Resort Hotel. The Block is just a little bit north of Anaheim, in the city of Orange.

For more trip planning to Carlsbad, Legoland, San Diego visit the San Diego Forum. I hear Carlsbad can be a lovely place to stay if you want a hotel along the beach and you are planning a San Diego vacation and don%26#39;t mind doing some driving.
Did you check your answers on your previous posting regarding outlet malls? They also tell you were the Cidadel is and one post gives directions and time estimate for travel.
