We are coming out to SF on Thurs 21-Tues 26. As of this morning, the 10 day forecast says there is a 60% chance of rain on Thurs/Fri. It doesn%26#39;t go out any further than that. My question is: what is the likelihood that it will rain the entire 6 days we are there? When it rains in SF does it come in showers or is it a constant rain?
I am sooooo disappointed! This is our first trip to SF and I don%26#39;t want it to be ruined by rain (even though I know I have no control over it whatsoever).
Any SF natives/travelers care to speculate?
Next weeks weather...not looking good...thoughts
Much too early to be worried as the forecasters have generally been wrong on such longrange predictions. At any rate they are calling for showers for those days, not any significant or steady rain. It%26#39;s highly unlikely that you%26#39;ll have an entire rainy stay. Just stay flexible and you can have a superb time visiting some of the world-class museums and art galleries, do some shopping or otherwise focus on indoor venues on days that might turn out to be a bit rainy. Hang tight--and keep checking the forecasts. I bet they%26#39;ll change for the better!!

You can probably relax a little bit. Worry about the things you can do something about. Weather happens. And you can barely trust a report more than a few hours ahead.
So pack an umbrella, but hope for the best. We%26#39;ve had some bad storms this year, but we%26#39;re still here, and I don%26#39;t think they%26#39;re forcasting a torential downpour. 60% sounds like showers, which isn%26#39;t constant downpour. This week has been fantastic, maybe next week will be more of the same!
Plus, most of the time, when we have a ';showery'; day, the next day is spectacular- clear skies, no fog, and beautiful green hills fed by the rain. The Bay Area looks its best during the spring (well, this is very early spring I guess) because it is our only rainy season. It%26#39;s very rare to have really stormy days many days in a row.
As someone who%26#39;s lived in SF for many I love it when it rains in SF, it gives the city really interesting glow, almost eerie but wonderful.
A big aspect of SF culture is the neighborhood watering hole, and it%26#39;s great to dash through rain drops and duck inside for a cocktail to warm you up as your run to the next location.
