Hi,
I%26#39;m spending about four days playing golf in Palm Springs after going to the Masters.
I%26#39;m after suggestions for places to eat for dinner and any ';must see'; sights whilst we are there.
Thanks,
JB
Four days in Palm Springs
Besides golf, what are your interests?
What kind of places do you want to eat?
Four days in Palm Springs
Hi PsP2SfO,
Typical tourist stuff... natural beauty, historical sites, museums etc.
As for food we%26#39;re pretty open minded. Are you aware of a Palm Springs tourist info site/link?
Cheers,
JB
For natural beauty hike up to the waterfall at the end of Tahquitz Canyon ($12). Indian Canyons is also very beautiful with its creek and palm trees. These still look like they did when only the Indians lived in the desert. There has been rain recently so the waterfall is probably pretty spectacular.
There are a lot of good restaurants in the area so it really depends on your budget.
Go to www.chowhound.com and search the California board you will find many recommendations and they will be accurate.
Sure, here it is

Downtown PS has all kinds of places to eat from Tylers Burgers ( the best in the area ) to The Falls and LG%26#39;s Sreakhouse ( high end )
Take a stroll down Palm Canyon Drive and see what interests you. Las Casuelas Terraza is a huge Mexican indoor /outdoor restaurant with live music and decent food/drinks.
Thursday nights ( 6-10 pm )is Village Fest in the same area, the roads is closed and there are several blocks of vendors , entertainment and lots of food to sample.
A favorite for dinner in the East Valley is The Cliffhouse in La Quinta

In Rancho Mirage, The River is nice to have dinner and stroll around the man made lake, window shop, and on Saturday nights there is live music in the outdoor amphitheatre. Dining options from Burgers to Flemings Steak House .
oops
the website is
www.theriveratranchomirage.com
Our museum is right downtown, so you can walk there from lunch or breakfast. There are usually special events going on. You can check your dates at

Don%26#39;t miss Palm Canyon in the indian canyons.
Thanks all!!

One of my must-see places for folks out of town who are willing to spend a decent dollar for a nice dinner out would be to have cocktails and dinner at the JW Marriott in Palm Desert. The lobby really is to die for (have cocktails here) and then dinner at either Sea Grille or Tuscany restaurants. Sea Grille is our favorite. The grounds of this resort are so beautiful and picturesque, it warrants a visit. And you won%26#39;t be dissapointed with the food either.
Also, don%26#39;t miss Palm Canyon at Indian Canyons. Very Palm Springs like hiking, just gorgeous, a real must-see.
A stroll down the real Palm Springs downtown area should be on your list if you have time. This is classic Palm Springs and where it all began.
Did you know Palm Springs was one of Walt Disney%26#39;s original possible locations for Disneyland? Then he decided it was too hot in the summer. You think????????????

One thing we never miss when in the desert, is going to the La Quinta Resort, in La Quinta. Have dinner on the outside patio of El Adobe Grille (reservations suggested). Live entertainment every evening around the giant firepit, beautiful grounds and water features. After dinner check out the lobby and original photos on the walls of the movie stars who stayed there.
