Embassy Suites Downtown or La Jolla

We are traveling with 2 adults 3 kids age 2-6. Which Embassy is nicer? We%26#39;d like to be in an area where we can walk to nearby restaraunts, views, shopping. Initially thought La Jolla but sounds like the shopping there is more upscale. We%26#39;d like to go to the tide pools and Seaport Village. We will have a rental car.

Embassy Suites Downtown or La Jolla

As I remember, unless it has changed, the reviews of the La Jolla Embassy Suites are slightly better. But, with your group and what you want to do, the downtown Embassy Suites would be better. In my opinion. You can take a day trip into La Jolla since you will have a rental car.

I%26#39;d d say either would be fine.Often the one in La Jolla is less expensive and it was just remodeled last year. The Embassy Suites/La Jolla is NOT in the area by the ocean where the upscale boutiques are located. It is about 8min inland from there. It is across the street from a very nice normal(not really upscale)mall with an indoor ice skating rink. It is about 20min north of downtown. The one downtown is prettier with views of the bay. I always say ';Take your best deal.';

Remember to figure in the cost of parking your car.

I like downtown, beautiful location, close to the trains, close to the battleship, great place to walk along the bay, good shopping and restaurants.

I agree either would be ok, but I%26#39;d chose downtown. I%26#39;ve stayed there before and liked it alot. You may get a room with a view of the harbor as mentioned and it%26#39;s close to Seaport Village.

If you chose the one in LJ, you%26#39;ll be across from the UTC mall. You can walk to the mall which will have restaurants or PF Changs, but you won%26#39;t have the views.

ok, I think I want the downtown for the view and walking in that area. Where can I get the best price??
