booking disneyland hotel on disney website

I am planning a family trip to disneyland in sept this year and wanted to check out prices at Disneyland Hotel. I went to the disney website put in my dates and was told there was no availability which I found odd so I checked out other websites, expedia and hotel.com and there was plenty of availability so here is my question.

Has any-one booked directly with disney and if so how far in advance also does the disney website only release rooms a certain time period ahead of travel times. i.e. for september when will rooms be available on the website.

thanks every-one

Hi I booked on the web. I am trying to remember how far ahead. Probably a few months or even earlier-I am a bit of a worrier about getting in. They replied with a confirmation email that I printed out and brought with me with dates and costings.

Have you thought of phoning? I have rung a couple of times to book character meals and it was less than $5 AUD on my phone bill. I rang about 7.30 am and that was early afternoon in DL.

It looks like I booked in mid August 2007 for a 14 Jan 2008 reservation.

thanks travellerand quilter, I will try ringing maybe it was just a hiccup on the website so will try again soon.

i to want to book everything up months in advance.

Try getawaytoday.com. I checked several dates in Sept. and they are still available and it%26#39;s cheaper than through disneyland.com. Also, if you want to book directly through the hotel, try calling them.

We have never booked any of the Disney properties on-line, but have checked their prices so we could get an idea of what the charges would be. When we called the Grand Californian direct we asked if they had any specials and found out we could get a senior discount (which we never saw on the website). So, I highly recommend calling direct. I think you can also get a discount for being a AAA member.

I%26#39;m generally an on-line hotel booker... but not with Disneyland. I stay frequently at Disneyland Hotels and always call to make my reservation. Plus when you call it%26#39;s a good time to voice your room/view preference, etc. They tell you they can only request but not guarantee these things - but my requests have always been honored up upgraded free at check-in.

thanks every-one for all the suggestions. I will investigate further.

I just booked on-line lastnight. Were staying at the Hotel Menage, Were going there March 24 and 25th. I think if you do it on-line you may get better results. Disney conformation came quickly via E-mail. Tickets and etc are sent to your door (signature req.) 21 days pior to your visit.

Hello,

I think you have tried to book a little in advace I would wait at least one more month, if you want to book online. The other travel websites always advertise that they are the cheapist but I find that to not always be true. I also recomemend Disney%26#39;s Paridise Pier Hotel, ( If you want to save money this would be a great option, it is a disney hotel so you get the great disney expierence). I also would recomend calling the disneyland hotel itself to make a reservation. They are always so helpful and you can make a reservation for certain disney resturants with them too. I hope this info. helps, have a great trip!

Also you can message me if you have any other questions.

We booked a large group of us for September 08 in September 07 at Paradise Pier. At that time you were able to make reservations through the Disney site but I notice those dates now come up as unavailable. In the end though a quick phone call to the US was the way to go. This might be the best option for you too.

thanks every-one,

as soon as we finalise our flights I will give the hotel a ring.

We%26#39;re still deciding on how long to stay there, am trying to convince DH to stay 6 days so we can take our time at the parks and not rush madly around trying to fit everything in over 2 or 3 days.

Am great believer in the idea that this is a holiday and not a marathon.
