Hi everyone. I am wondering what the cheapest way from LAX to Burbank is?
I am also wondering about Burbank to Anaheim and then Anaheim to San Diego.
I am planning a whirlwind to the Ellen Show, then Disneyland, then Sand Diego Zoo and finally Sea World. Many thanks!
Cheapest way from LAX to Burbank?
The CHEAPEST way is to take the frequent FlyAway bus from LAX to Union Station ($4); then take the next train from Union Station to Burbank ($5 or less).
Burbank to Anaheim..again the train ($7.50 or less although AMTRAK is more). Anaheim to San Diego...again the train, but only AMTRAK runs all the way to San Diego (you could possibly get an AMTRAK ticket from Burbank to San Diego with a stopover in Anaheim. See www.amtrak.com and www.metrolinktrains.com
Cheapest way from LAX to Burbank?
ADDENDUM: Actually taking regular public transit buses is probably even cheaper, but very time consuming. See metro.net for public bus information.
You%26#39;re coming to LA and only going to the Ellen Show? That%26#39;s quite a committment. The EASIEST way to do all of this is by car. Another option for the Disneyland, SD Zoo, and SeaWorld part is to do it via an organized tour that includes transportation. The Burbank part is the hardest part. It would make it a lot easier if you flew into the Burbank Airport instead of LAX. Is that possible? You can take public transportation as described above, but make sure you have 1.5-2 hrs for the trip since you%26#39;ll have to take the Flyaway shuttle to Union station, then Metrolink and then a shuttle bus to the studio. Btw, you can map out the public transportation route at www.mta.net.
I%26#39;m assuming that you will be stopping at your hotel before going to Ellen. You don%26#39;t say where you hotel is, however. The previous directions are good if your hotel is near Burbank Airport or Downtown Burbank where there are train stations. If your hotel is near NBC (where Ellen is), however, I would take the route below:
Take the Union Station Flyaway Bus from LAX (make sure you get on the right Flyaway bus -- there are 3 different ones: make sure that it is the UNION STATION Flyaway bus).
The bus will let you off in the bus plaza behind Union Station. Walk into the station and go downstairs to the red line metro rail and take it to the Universal City stop ($1.25, 25 minutes).
Take one of the following buses (whichever comes first):
1. The #96 Metro bus NORTHBOUND on Lankershim Bl (across the street from the metro rail station). Get off in front of NBC (at the corner of Alameda Av and Olive Av (14 minutes). Fare is $1.25
OR
2. The #155 Metro NORTHBOUND Get off in front of NBC (at the corner of Alameda Av and Olive Av (12 minutes). Fare is $1.25
You can also buy a $5 DAY PASS in the red line metro rail station (in Union Station) for unlimited rides on the metro rail and metro buses for the day. This way, you won%26#39;t have to keep paying $1.25 to ride the metro rail or the metro buses. If your hotel is not within walking distance of Ellen, then you%26#39;ll need to take a total of 4 (or more) buses and metro rail trains so the $5 DAY PASS is the best choice.
Thank you everyone for your help!
