Rock Venues.

I think that depends on what you mean by ';rock';. If you mean indie rock there is a good club on Hollywood Blvd. called Bang!(if you google it you can find directions and a flyer that will get you in for a discount). There is also The Echo, Spaceland, and Silverlake Lounge that are all in Silverlake

If you want hard rock then there is The Whiskey which usually has stuff like that going on. You could also try The Roxy or the Rainbow Bar. These are all on Sunset.

You should check www.laweekly.com for gig/club listings

Rock Venues.

Thanx I mean classic or heavy rock bands

Within walking distance from teh Grafton, you have The Troubadour, The Roxy, Viper Room, Whiskey, Key Club.

laweekly.com is where to look for shows.

Also within walking distance you have tons of great restaurants. Did you want italian? Argentinian? Pizza? Sushi? Deli? Steaks? Hot dogs? Mexican? Bars are all along Sunset, too, or take the Dash bus into Hollywood for even more choices.

All the above mentioned places are walking distance from your hotel and true classic rock venues.

There is also a newer spot that made in impact lately called Safari Sams on Sunset in Hollywood

The Troubadour is also close just down the hill on Santa Monica Blvd and Doheny

Check out upcoming shows at the above venues at each venue%26#39;s website, or Ticketmaster.com which covers a few of them together (House of Blues, Roxy, Troubadour, etc). Bands at all of them range from indie rock to classic rock to cover bands, etc. It just depends on the night and who is booked. So check their schedules and see what you like. For popular shows, you should buy tickets ahead of time.

There are dozens of places to eat on Sunset Strip. Red Rock is a cool laid back bar with pretty good food and great happy hours 5-7pm. I think someone from England would feel at home there. For good pizza, try Panini. For celeb spotting and good lunch, Primo. Poquito Mas for good Mexican. There are a bunch of Middle Eastern, Italian, and French places too. And there is Chin Chin if you want Chinese.

You%26#39;d probably also like Barney%26#39;s at Holloway a couple blocks south. It%26#39;s a laid back sports bar with a huge menu.

Thankyou all so very much for you valued info. This is my first time to the USA and im very much looking forward to this.

Kind regards from your English cousins

It is called Barney%26#39;s Beanery actually http://www.barneysbeanery.com/

There food is horrible but there beerselection and all around athmosphere is outstanding, so deffinatly dont miss out on it(just dont eat there, lol)
