Hi
We will be in San Francisco in September, this will be our final stop of our eight week trip of a lifetime. We have chosen to end in SF as it has special memories for us. This will be our third and probaly final trip, I have cystic fibrosis and am finding it impossible to get health insurance to Canada and North America. We are trying to plan our trips and have lots of happy memories. Wondering if we have missed anything or whether we just revisit our favourite places. I will outline what have covered and our highlights.
*Tandem bike ride over golden gate bridge into Saulisito and lunch at Angelionos. Favourite memory.
*Lunch at oyster depot on polk street. Loved this.
* Evening trip to alcatraz
*Dinner at Mortons and lunch at Cheese cake factory.
*Late meal at Brazen Head.
* Walking and cable car all over including china town (great dim sum) and Fihermans wharf (loved eating crab on the barrels) an seals.
* Shopping at Union square
* Saw James Blunt at Warefield theatre.
* Irish coffee at bar think it was called bueno vista.
Any recomendations or comments. This is our favourite city and if it is our last trip want to fit everything in. We love steak and good seafood so any restaurant recommendations.
Thanks
Maxine

Rather than a chain/franchise, may I recommend Boboquivari%26#39;s? For more, please put M*E*A*T in the Search box above.

Buena Vista.

3rd and probably final trip. Have we missed anything?Eating crab on those barrels is one of my favorite memories too.
Enjoy every moment of your trip. Your family will cherish these memories! What a shame your healthcare system is so bad.
PS I meant to tell you that one of my favorite things to do in the city is an early morning walk (before the masses get up) and stop off for coffee and a scone. There are so many great cafes in SF and I always consider it a ';must do';.
Thanks for responses so far. Like the look of Bobo%26#39;s may give try.
All ideas welcome
Maxine
For seafood, you might try Pesce, Aqua or the Waterbar. These are expensive, so only for a splurge. Hayes Street Grill is an old standby for seafood.
... I%26#39;m so happy to know you%26#39;ve chosen SF for your farewell tour. Hopefully, it won%26#39;t really be the last time...
A few things that I would consider uniquely San Francisco...
A performance of Beach Blanket Babylon.
A visit to Golden Gate Park, including the Japanese Tea Garden and Conservatory of Flowers.
A drive down Lombard St.
A bay cruise.
A hike around the Marin Headlands with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
A drink at the top of the Mark Hopkins Hotel.
Enjoy your trip! Hope it%26#39;s not your last.
Had thought about golden gate park. Would it be a good place to cycle around?
Max
Very nice place to ride a bicycle or skate. Take a picnic and enjoy the outdoors!
Thanks for all your responses. Starting to get a good plan together. Any recommendations for a final lunch / brunch, would like to sit outside. We fly at four in the afternoon so time will be quite tight. Could take our bags to where we eat and get a cab to airport. Have not booked hotel but will probable go for somewhere union square ish! Previously stayed at Hotel Bijou, Cartwright and York.
Thanks
Max
