Muni passes

Could you give some direction on these. We will only be in San Francisco Sat pm and most of Sunday. Where would I find info on where to get these along with the cost?

Muni passes

Here is there website with all the information you were looking for

Muni passes

Thanks. Are the passes for a 24hr period or just a calendar day? Couldn%26#39;t find that on the site.

Calender day--They begin when you scratch off the date.

if you plan on a one day pass, you might consolidate all of your cable car riding on one day, then just pay regular fare on other vehicles ($1.50), the other. Or, for $18, it would cover 3 days. Since cable cars are $5 on way, it may be cheaper to go with the 3 day. Give it to a fellow visitor before you leave, so they can use it.

the 3day and passing it on sounds like the best idea.

Would it cover transportation from Oakland airport into SF?

No, you would need to buy a separate BART ticket for that.

I was looking at the transportation website and our family will most likely need the 7 day Muni pass. It looks like we will also have to pay $1 extra to ride the cable cars. Is this correct? Does anyone know why? Thanks.

Cable Cars are a big tourist attraction. Considering one way on these coast you $5, paying an $1 extra does not sound to bad

Alex, you are correct. However, there is no extra charge on the 3-day pass, but only the 7 day, so we will pay it if required, but just curious. We wont be in the city for all seven days. We will be there 2 days, then travel for one day, then back one day and then depart. We could just pay the regular fare on the last day too. This trip is expensive as you know and we will be travelling for 11 days total between Yosemite, Big Sur and San Francisco.

There seems to be some confusion here

A Muni 1, 3, or 7 day PASSPORT ($11, 18, or 24)is good on ALL Muni vehicles for unlimited rides. There is NO $1 extra charge on cable cars.

This is not to be confused with a ONE WEEK Pass, which is good for a specific week, Monday to Sunday. These run $15 and DO require $1 extra on cable cars.

This pass may work for some, but they are not as easy to find and are date specific. We usually recommend that you go with the PASSPORT to avoid the hassle.
