Dinner suggestion

My husband and I will be spending the last night of our our 1-week vacation in Santa Barbara, and we are looking for a reasonably priced restaurant for dinner. We are open to all types of cuisine as long as the restaurant has good service. Thanks in advance for your advice!

If you like Italian food, Olie e Limone is very good, we also enjoyed the Wine Cask, amazing service here! Enjoy Santa Barbara! :)

Hi ags99,

I think you indicated ';reasonably priced restaurant';. I am not sure what price range you prefer, but one that is reasonable and popular with many of our visitors is the Harbor Restaurant on the Pier. The Pier (Stearn%26#39;s Wharf) has wonderful yacht harbor and ocean views. The other two restaurants that were mentioned are very nice and in the downtown area and maybe a bit pricey. I don%26#39;t think we have ever had a tab under $125.00 for either. You may want to read some of the Trip Advisor reviews.

Check this website for the restaurant listings - www.santabarbara.com. The public reviews can be all over the place, so it%26#39;s hard to judge from them.

Reasonably priced - good service restaurants. First one that comes to mind is Trattoria Vittoria. Ca Dario, another Italian restaurant, is a small place, but the food is excellent.

Add Brophy%26#39;s to the mix as a seafood restaurant that overlooks (=view) the harbor and is popular with tourists and locals. Santa Barbara Shellfish on the Wharf, is another good seafood choice, also with a view, but not exactly full service. I also like Enterprise Fish Co., well decorated but no views.

Also like Louie%26#39;s at the Upham, but the price is higher there.

SB Shellfish Co. is very good, it is located right on Stearn%26#39;s Wharf, they have very good lobster bisque and full lobster dinners here, pretty views of the ocean, also. There are tables set up in front of the restaurant if you want to dine outside and take in the views here. :)

Here are my favorites (not all of which are reasonably priced, but all have excellent service:

Lucky%26#39;s in Montecito (a can%26#39;t miss steakhouse)

Olle y Limone (italian - just off State St. - great food)

Wine Cask (Just off State Street in the Paseo)

Chad%26#39;s (charming setting - good food - but is closing in 2 months :( )

Enterprise Fish Company (real close to your hotel - seafood)

Emilio%26#39;s (Close to the beach - good Italian food)

Mmmm..Holdren%26#39;s is really good too!!!!!!

I agree with SB Shellfish on the Wharf. You can get a ';good dinner'; anywhere when you%26#39;re in New York, but dining out on the wharf is the Santa Barbara experience, so go for it!

I also concur with the recommendations for SB Shellfish Company if you like seafood. It%26#39;s all local seafood, and the atmosphere is very Santa Barbara, as opposed to Enterprise Fish Co. which is not local at all (it%26#39;s a chain).

Another recommendation would be Zaytoon on E. Canon Perdido Street - Middle Eastern cuisine in a gorgeous setting - outdoor patio and table with their own fireplaces!

I believe the Enterprise Fish Company has its origins in Santa Barbara, and there are only two restaurants in the ';chain.';

Yes, the Enterprise Fish Co. has two locations, one in SB and the other in Santa Monica, they do not serve local seafood though. The SB Shellfish does serve some local, but also serves lobster from Maine and some shellfish from Morro Bay, but it is all fresh and delicious and what a great location!
