Carmel galleries

Which galleries do you recommend in the Carmel.Monterey/PG area for either:

1. Outdoor/garden art

2. Glass art

Thanks!

Hi I%26#39;m afraid I don%26#39;t know much about the galleries. You can read descriptions of the galleries on these sites:

When you%26#39;re in PG, you can visit Mrs. Trawick%26#39;s garden shop, which has some garden/outdoor items. It%26#39;s downstairs from the Red House Cafe on Lighthouse Avenue. I highly recommend lunch at the Red House--it%26#39;s excellent.

PGdenizen, what if the name of the shop across from Peppers? I love that place and didn%26#39;t have enough time there when last we ate at Peppers.

Thanks,

G

There is a store on Ocean Ave. (between Mission and San Carlos) called Concepts that had some beautiful glass art. There are certainly many more, I just happen to remember the name of that one.

We visited a shop that had wonderful ';garden art'; but I cannot remember the name. It is in the heart of town, in a location that is sort of hidden. They had some wonderful things. If I find the business card I will let you know where it is.

G, it%26#39;s called Tessuti Zoo. It%26#39;s a fun place--really colorful!

Babalax, was it Homescapes Carmel, on Dolores St.?

Thanks, I am pretty sure that is not the name of the shop I was thinking of. I think that this place - most of it is outdoors - is in the vicinity of Katie%26#39;s Place. You have to walk down a narrow path to get to it. It has a garden feel with water fountains and bird baths and rustic iron work. I took photos of some of the things I wanted to buy, so you%26#39;d think I would have put the business card with the photos, right? I could also be completely wrong about the location. Good gracious this is going to drive me nutty!

With a little perseverance I found TWO business cards from ';garden decor'; shops. (I may have put them together in my memory as one place.) Thank goodness, now I can sleep tonight ;)

One is A Great Place on Dolores between Ocean %26amp; 7th behind the Tuck Box. The finest in unique home and garden decor, including iron furniture, trellises, bird houses, bird baths, fountains, weather vanes, bronze sculptures, and their famous garden-creature stakes.

The other is The Shop in the Garden, on Lincoln, south of Ocean (831/624-6047) Copper %26amp; brass sculptures for home %26amp; garden. Fountains, lamps, birds, Wind chimes, mobiles, wall sculptures. Work designed and created on the premises. A must see for the Carmel visitor.

Thank you all for your input! We%26#39;ll check those out!

There is one that I love but also do not know the name. It is metal stauary of children playing. Really great stuff done by a grandma if I remember correctly. I think it is on the North side of ocean in the vacinity of Katy%26#39;s.

You didn%26#39;t mention your style, taste, or budget, but if you%26#39;re looking for one-of-a-kind, expensive ($5K+), modern pieces try the Hawthorne Gallery in Big Sur. It%26#39;s about 30 miles south of Carmel on Highway 1, across the highway from Nepenthe restaurant.

Even if it%26#39;s not your style, the drive is extraordinarily beautiful, and many people like to visit Nepenthe for lunch during a trip to the Carmel area. This GoList may give you some more ideas.
