My Trip Report Day 8 - Last Day

Well today was all about getting home, but we did have some stops along the way.

We got up early and finished off as much of the food from the fridge and cupboards that we had leftover. We always buy too much!

We raced around and packed our bags and soon realized we had to buy another bag! It was that darn Disney Warehouse store that did us in!

So we made due and figured we%26#39;d repack along the way some time as we didnt%26#39; have to leave until almost 7pm.

So we head right over to Target and bought a new suitcase and then a couple of treats too for the day and head out in the general direction of Santa Monica.

We found it easily enough but some of the areas that the other forums said to go to were way too expensive for shopping but we drove around anyways and eventually found a lot to park in and walked down the 3rd Street Promenade with a bunch of great shops and restaurants. We stopped at....wait for it....FAT BURGER for lunch and I have to say that I liked their burgers way better than In and Out. They were so good, kids liked them too.

So off we went and went down to the famous Pier. Now my kids had just spent a week at Disneyland but they wanted to ride the rides on the Pier that were 100 years old! LOL We said no to that and wandered around. I managed to pick up this neat map that was newly made and it was of stars homes and crime scenes. I know sick, but it was cool to read. I just wish I%26#39;d had it when we%26#39;d gone into LA a few days before. Next time.

THen we walked down the Pier a bit more and got my daughters picture taken with Miley Cyrus! No just a cardboard cutout but she%26#39;s had fun with it this week telling all her friends she met her! LOL It%26#39;s quite funny actually.

Then we took some pics and did some more people watching and had to head back. We looked at the map and found a local park the kids could run around in and grabbed our munchies and then repacked all our goods. We maanged to get it all into the new bag and rearrange the others thankfully. Now we were just praying they weren%26#39;t over weight!

Then we headed off to the airport.

When we got there we had a little time to check in and relax and then we were on our way. Everything was timed perfectly.

Oh and by the way, one of our bags was 49.5lbs!! LOL Just under.

We had a boring ride to Seattle and then ate in the Seattle airport at like 9pm or whatever time it was. Then got onto a Horizon Air flight to Victoria around 10pm.

Now we were tired, long day and week....this woman who was the flight attendant decides to SING all the announcements! I was getting so annoyed. She sang the emergency instructions to the M-I-C-K-E-Y song from Mickey Mouse Club and then another one about beverages to It%26#39;s a Small World. I mean I suppose maybe it was done well but man oh man, NOT IN THE MOOD at that time of night!!!!

So got our luggage fine and drove home and got home around 2:30am. Safe and sound. Fell into bed and stayed home from school and work the next day.

One SUCCESSFUL TRIP! Thanks everyone for reading and I hope I didn%26#39;t bore you too much.

Now to figure out posting pictures.

So glad you had a great time! Thanks for sharing!

My Trip Report Day 8 - Last Day

What pier is it? We have a day that we aren%26#39;t doing the DL thing and it sounds like fun.

Santa Monica pier, correct? Thanks for all of your reports, they have been such fun to read, I%26#39;m glad your trip was successful! :)

Yes Santa Monica Pier and the LA forum people were really helpful helping me plan the jaunt to LA and my Santa Monica day.

Wonder why the heck Chuck has it out for me? I%26#39;ve never ';met'; anyone so rude.

I%26#39;m glad some people enjoyed my postings and felt that it was fun to read. It%26#39;s unfortunate to have people on here that are so outright nasty and rude.

Thank you to everyone who read and enjoyed.

Thanks jchbn for your great trip reports, I feel like I%26#39;ve lived it with you. We are going to Anaheim, LA and Santa Monica in October so your posts were all relevant to us.

I think it%26#39;s hilarious that your kids wanted to do the rides at the Pier after their Disney adventure. I expect mine will be the same but we%26#39;re doing the Pier first so Disneyland will probably blow them away.

Was there a lot of girls doing the Jedi Training? Mine are 11 and 8.
