I am taking my 13-year old daughter and 12-year old son to L.A. at the end of June to see the Angels v. Dodgers series. The only thing they want to do (other than see the games) is swim in the hotel swimming pool. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which hotels have good pools for swimming? Advice much appreciated.
Hotels with great pools
Id the game at Dodger Stadium? If so you should check either the Roosevelt or Renaissance in Hollywood, close enough to Dodger Stadium and both have excellent pools. You can even see the Hollywood Sign from the Renaissance pool

I would not recommend the Roosevelt with teenagers -- it%26#39;s a major daytime bar scene of twentysomethings, right out of MTV.
Renaissance is a great idea, and puts you fairly close to Dodger Stadium.
Other great pools:
Beverly Hilton
W in Westwood
Shutters at the Beach
The Standard (both), but also not for kids
Sunset Tower
Loews Santa Monica (great for families, and right on the beach)
I go to the Roosevelt Pool fairly often during the day to relax and take in the sun. It is mostly families and tourists. Weekends you can get more of a ';hip'; crowd.
But yogochick is right, if you are visiting with kids in the 12/13 year age range, i would deffinatly recomend the Renaissance vs the Roosevelt at any time
Plus you are in a fun area that you can walk around at. Visit some great restaurants or take in a movie at the El Capitan or Chinese Theater
The Loews is great to, especially if you like the beach but it can be a hassle to get to Dodger Stadium from there (an hour plus each way vs 15/20 min from the Renaissance in Hollywood)
I agree ith Yogachick. In the summer, the Roosevelt pool has the likes of Lindsey Lohan hanging out by the pool, and other Hollywood types. It%26#39;s not a destination with kids if that%26#39;s the type of atmosphere you%26#39;re looking for. I agree with the Beverly Hilton and the Loew%26#39;s in Santa Monica recommendations. In June, it%26#39;s great to be by the beach too in my opinion. The weather is cooler.

I dont think it makes sense to recomend a hotel in Santa Monica when the whole purpose of the trip is to watch a game at dodger stadium.
They%26#39;re on vacation with a kid. If the purpose is somewhat of a vacation and enjoying some of the best parts of LA while doing the game, then situating yourself next to a stadium which they will visit for 3 hrs in the evening on one of the days may not be of ultimate importance. There are plenty of people living in Santa Monica going to Dodger games all the time. If they have a car, it%26#39;s not an issue (as they%26#39;re from California, they probably realize this). They didn%26#39;t ask for the best hotel with pool right by the stadium.
The Hyatt Century City Pool looks decent also(square but good sized).

Answer to that would be to stay in the Hollywood area and the Renaissance i think would be perfectly fine
Of course if the Dodger game is just one part of the trip and the op wants to spent more time in the area, enjoying the beach, sigtseeing e.t.c. that would be a different story, but we do not know that.
Alex- Hollywood is not the only place to stay in here in LA.
I know it is a popular area to stay in and you favor the area on TA.
But,sooner or later people may not listen to your advice as much if you don%26#39;t mix it up some. I am sure you are able to give good advice for all different areas of LA.
Please take this as a friendly suggestion.
