Palace of Fine Arts

Arriving in San Francisco around 2-3pm and thinking of ways to stay awake to help with the jet lag. We will be staying in Bush Street, we were thinking about getting the cable car down towards the marina and then walking to the Palace of Fine arts, is this possible or would it be to far.

Hi Pauline, having suffered the jet lag thing going the other direction (SF to London) numerous times, my advice is that getting out in the sun is good, but pick a route that gives you a opt out choice. Take the cable car to the wharf and then walk the other direction, along the Embarcadero. That way, if you find yourself worn out, you can pick up the F-Line Trolley to the Embarcadero and then Muni (or walk) back to Bush.

That is about 2 miles. You could take the bus from the Wharf/Aquatic Park area (terminus of the cable car) to , or from, if you get tired. It%26#39;s a scenic walk if you stay by the water via Ft Mason and Marina Green to Lyon St. Otherwise, the 30 Stockton to Chestnut/Laguna and a transfer to the 28 Daly City will get you there and/or back (though it would be the 28 Ft Mason, instead, coming back)

thanks guys I am thinking of things to do to keep us awake (8hrs time difference) and also I dont want to waste the afternoon as we only have 4 nights in San Francisco.
