Anyone familiar with La Quinta LAX? Their prices are quite a bit below the others in the area, so am wondering if the motel is still okay. Sort of the ';too good to be true?'; feeling?
Thanks!

I%26#39;m not sure if you are aware, but this website is primarily a hotel review website. That means you can find past traveler reviews for almost any hotel you are looking at by typing in the name in that box at the top left.
I%26#39;ve stayed here. It%26#39;s fine and clean, though LAX is not a great area to stay. It has very good reviews:

Yes, I looked at the reviews, and La Quinta is ranked as #22--that%26#39;s why I thought it%26#39;d be okay. But when the price was so much cheaper, it made me wonder a bit. As long as it%26#39;s clean and decent, it will be great for the night before we leave. I%26#39;ve always heard ';you get what you pay for';--so just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks!
LAX hotels in general are inexpensive because it%26#39;s not a great place to stay to see LA and because there are tons of hotels and many go empty. What are you comparing it to? It%26#39;s a simple 2-star, but it%26#39;s clean. If you%26#39;re expecting a 4-star, then it%26#39;s not going to meet your needs. What is the price they%26#39;re quoting? If there are 2 of you, you can also get a 4star on Priceline or Hotwire. They go for about $60-80 on there instead of regular $150+ rates.
FYI, we have one night booked there for August and after noticing in my Entertainment Book that there was a code to use w/purchase of book on LQ hotels, I knocked off an additional $10 from the rate I had gotten using my AAA card.

Basically just want a place to stay before heading home the next morning. Just want somewhwere clean, decent, hopefully fairly quiet. If that%26#39;s possible by an airport, although some are quieter than others. The rate was $89. I see they%26#39;ve renovated, and it looks good. I%26#39;ll have to check out the coupon. Thanks!

$89 is not cheap for this area for this level of hotel. How many people are in your party? If there are only two, you can easily get a 3-4 star like Westin for $60-80 via Priceline or Hotwire. You can see what others won and for how much at betterbidding.com. Just choose the LAX area and a 3-4 star rating when you bid or purchase.
The above option is not cancellable. Your other option for example can be the Custom Hotel which is having $89-99 specials often. See travelzoo.com.
Btw, do you really need to stay by the airport for that one night? Packing, unpacking and moving takes away your valuable sightseeing time the day before. If you%26#39;re staying anywhere in LA close to tourist sites during the LA portion of your trip, there should be no reason to transfer to an airport hotel. Why not just go to the airport right before your flight? What time is your flight and on what day of the week?
