A question for you locals. Why can%26#39;t I get San Francisco off my brain? What has your city done to me???? I vacationed there for the past 2 years,so many great cities in this world, just returned from a wonderful beach vacation in Cancun, and all I can think about is planning another trip to your city. Some how I have been brain washed..lol. guess it%26#39;s time to start planning another trip there.
I am San Francisco obsessed! They broadcast hypnotic messages while you sleep. And the fog? It%26#39;s addictive.
I am San Francisco obsessed!I%26#39;ve yet to find a city I like better...
And I%26#39;m guessing you might not have even discovered some of the best treasures yet! Next time you come, let us know what you%26#39;ve already seen and maybe we can steer you to some of the hidden gold you might not have seen yet.
And there are lots of places within 2 hours of here that are worth a day trip as well. I%26#39;ve lived here for the entire 37 years of my life and I%26#39;m still discovering things.
Maybe your right..it%26#39;s the fog!! That puzzels me also. I love hot, sunny destinations, but SF fog draws me to it.
I may just take you up on that Mr. Chinn, And get in touch prior to our next visit. I KNOW your fabulous city has many hidden treasures. With just 2 trips there we didn%26#39;t even scratch the surface. The only place we visited in both vacatons was China Town. This last time was ';off the beaten path'; in China Town visit a Buddhist Monastery, tried to learn how to play an Edru (no luck). etc..was fun experience. such a great city..ahhhhhh can%26#39;t wait to come back!
its happend to me as well,i went 3yrs ago for four days....what a beautifull city i/we love it.returning in 2 wks for my sons 21st cant wait!
vegas is a close second though..hmm perhaps its a draw
I have no doubts that before I leave town, I%26#39;ll have to hide one of those old egyptian canopic jars somewhere on the Golden Gate Bridge. It should serve as a safe storage place for my heart when the inevitable happens and I leave it in San Francisco:)
Of course you all know what that means- I%26#39;ll have to make a return trip to collect it! That is, assuming your big orange bridge will let me have it back:)
How many hearts have that bridge and the lovely city of San Francisco stolen? I%26#39;m sure they can be counted in the thousands.
Ah, you all bring warmth to the hearts of those of us lucky enough to live or work here.
I have what is considered a nasty commute- over the Bay Bridge into the city- but time and again I look out over the bay and the Golden Gate and think how lucky I am to be driving slow enough to appreciate the view! (OK, only when I%26#39;m not late for work...)
And ladyme, I%26#39;m heading your way this summer, as my nephew lives near Portland and has set us up for a family reunion at Damariscota Lake.
And the Bay Bridge is another beauty- at least her western span, anyway. The old eastern half isn%26#39;t nearly as spectacular. I%26#39;m holding back judgement on the new eastern span until it%26#39;s completed.
I just love the necklace of lights along the main cables of the Bay Bridge, they really make her look wonderful.
Is anyone else besides me sick of seeing Golden Gate Bridge getting whacked in disaster movies? The Core, X-Men 3, and so on..Leave that bridge alone!
I love seeing the Golden Gate Bridge in any movie, under any circumstance. Doesn%26#39;t matter if it%26#39;s being destroyed, has a giant octopus crawling on it, or has a spaceship flying underneath it.
(Well, maybe I%26#39;m not too crazy about seeing it when people are committing suicide by jumping off of it.)
Recently caught an episode of Mythbusters doing one of their experiments at Alameda. The Bay Bridge loomed large over the old runway and you could even see the Golden Gate Bridge spanning across the other side of the city. I know they had to superimpose that because you can%26#39;t see the Golden Gate Bridge from that part of the bay. Sure enough, future shots did not have the GG Bridge in them. How tricksy is that? It%26#39;s all subliminal marketing to get our hearts racing (or aching) for an SF visit.
I%26#39;ve got that movie ';The Bridge'; on DVD, part of my Golden Gate Bridge collection. It was very hard to take indeed, so sad. But at the same time, hearing the family members and close friends talking was like a loving tribute to those poor people.
The book ';Golden Gate Bridge'; by Donald McDonald talks about the design and construction of the bridge, as well as showing sketches of suicide barrier proposals, some of which could drastically alter the look of the bridge up close. I know that mentioning the words ';suicide barrier'; in San Francisco is definately liable to start quite a fur-flying argument depending on the audience.
