If you plan to stay at least a few days, AND you are close enough to your family that you%26#39;d be willing to stay in a house together for your vacation, you may want to consider renting a house. It could end up being cheaper and be a nice place to really hang out together. This link has info on renting a place:

My personal favorite is www.vrbo.com

There%26#39;s tons of hotels around DL. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

If you want to stay within walking distance look for hotels in the ';Anaheim Resort'; on Harbor or Katella. There are also hotels a little south of Disneyland Resort on Harbor, just over the city border in Garden Grove. You can take a quick shuttle to and from Disneyland Resort if staying in those hotels and it is a nice area.

First thing that springs to mind for you, because of the amount of people you have, is Embassy Suites South in Garden Grove. Every room is a suite, with bedroom and a living room with a couch that converts into a bed. Complimentary full breakfast for each person for every day of your stay. You will probably need at least two suites.

So that we can help you further, here are some questions.

What do you consider moderatly priced?

Do you want someplace within walking distance?

Most hotels are clean and comfortable in that area. What specifically would you like in a hotel?

Are you looking for 2 or more rooms or a suite (or two? Would you like to rent a house or apartment, as suggested above?

You can find a standard hotel like Howard Johnson%26#39;s at about $100 a night (highly rated), or you could look at extended stay hotels. The Residence Inn Maingate on Disney Way and Clementine is close and comes with a lot of options, including a full kitchen and selected meals, including a daily breakfast. They are closer to $150 to $200 per night, but with a large family, the free meals and the kitchen could more than pay for itself.

What are you looking for in accomodations and options? Do you want to be close to the park? How many people will be in a room? (there are strict Fire Marshall rules).

The more info you give us, the better. Some hotels charge for parking, so will you get a rental car, or plan to walk and use shuttles?

Thank you all for all the information. Some answers to your questions:-

Moderatly priced:- I suppose in the $150 per night. Obviously more if we were sharing with my parents.

Distance:- We will hire a car and know that most places have shuttles to Disney so walking distance is not a must.

Hotels:- I guess not too old or run down! Really clean. Some where that maybe is known to refurbish regualry so as to keep up to date. Thought a kitchen/kitchenet would be handy as we have small children and maybe a baby (hope!!!!!). Also thinking somewhere where breakfast was included might be a good option for many reasons!

Suite or House:- Had thought of the house idea! Wasn%26#39;t sure how to go about that thought with coming from Australia. Are there many avaliable and completly furnished????

Once again thanks one and all for your on-going help!

Well having been to disneyland several times and staying in a wide varity of disney hotels and non disney hotels I would like to give you some advice.

If you are trying to save money and want to stay on disney property and want a magical disney expiernce take a look at Disney%26#39;s Paidise Pier Hotel. It is a really nice hotel and is right on the disney propety. Check out some of the pictures and pricing on disneyland.com

If you want to stay off the property and want to save even more money I would most deffinatly recomend the Candy Cane Inn. I have stayed here lots of times and I absolutly love it! This hotel is walking distance from the gates and is moderatly priced it just depends on the season and the dates you choose. This hotel is really great becaus it also offers compimentry breakfast, and free transpirtation to the parks, ( sometimes walking is faster because you have to wait for the bus). You can check out the prices of this hotel and pictures at candycaneinn.net

I hope I have helped you a little and I also hope you have a great and Magical trip to disneyland. You can also message me if you have more questions.

I would recommend the Doubletree off of Harbor and Orange. It%26#39;s only a short walk to Disneyland or you can ride the ART shuttle for $3/person. You can get a suite for around $143/night. It%26#39;s a fairly new property that doesn%26#39;t disappoint- definitely clean a comfortable.

Yes, there are quite a few houses available to rent, and they are completely furnished. www.vrbo.com is my personal favorite, though there are several others. vrbo, cyberrentals, great rentals, and several others have a ';rent with confidence guarantee.'; Just click on the link at the top of the page on vrbo.com and it will give you the details. You have to register, but it%26#39;s free.

Be sure to compare all costs including the cleaning fees and tax. Some include tax, some don%26#39;t. Also, some charge a fee for credit card payments and some will accept credit cards without charging you a fee. A weekly stay will often get you a cheaper rate, and with a larger group it often ends up being less expensive to rent a house. The downsides: no free breakfast, and no housekeepers to tidy up during your stay. Also, there are much stricter cancellation policies for house rentals than for most hotels, so make sure that you are committed to your dates.

Howard Johnsn was brilliant. Highly recommend it!
