Hi Everyone!
Ive noticed in a recent post you dont advise going to Disneyland in ';off peak'; season due to rides being closed and not getting the full experience...
Im coming from Australia in November ( Nov 1st- 6th ) and wondering what is normally closed around that time- although probably impossible to predict, is it safe to say majority of attractions are open? My must see%26#39;s- Pirates, Splash Mountain %26amp; Indiana Jones.
Sorry if this has been posted before, I did try and search but couldnt find anything.
Any help appreciated.

First off, I don%26#39;t have a blanket statement of not going in the off-season, there are a lot of good things about attending in the off season.
You picked an interesting time, DIsney has a couple of major seasonal events, HalloweenTime which is from late September thru October 31st, and then the Christmas events start Friday November 9th. So you will see a lot of changes in decor, most of which happens overnight. Halloween stuff will disappear, and Christmas stuff will appear.
';it%26#39;s a small world'; will be closed as it prepares for the Holiday version, which open on the 9th.
A good chance that the Matterhorn will be closed, it has been closing every fall, as the ride is old, and they replace the track in segments, and it is also rumored to be getting new trains (sled) that will offer side-by-side seating instead of the lap seating.
Splash Mountain will be open for sure, it is currently in a major refurb and reopens in May.
Not sure about Pirates or Indy, more than likely not, but remember, that many rides break down and have to be closed. For example, one side of the Matterhorn has been closed due to the fact the chain lift broke. They hope to have it reopened this week.
You might not get to see any Fireworks, but you should get the Parade of Dreams daily and Fantasmic! on the weekend

If you%26#39;re already booked in, then of course you%26#39;re committed to it, so you will know a week or so before what won%26#39;t be working. That%26#39;s just the way it goes, and at least being pre-warned takes the disappointment off. Then, we found off peak to be great, as though a few rides were closed, we got onto the ones that were open so easily that we know we saw everything we wanted to, and quite a few we hadn%26#39;t planned. So, within reason, don%26#39;t worry too much about what%26#39;s not going- you can%26#39;t change it, so enjoy what%26#39;s there! We didn%26#39;t have the monorail going (very traditional DL, in my opinion) which I was disappointed about before we left, but boy, did we still have a great time! If you%26#39;re got young kids, and it%26#39;s quiet, it%26#39;s so much better to keep them going onto more rides than standing in lines- you don%26#39;t even begrudge having a rest! Hope your %26#39;essential%26#39; rides are going for you.
Hi Popcornpaws
My hubby and I visited Disney in November 2005 (we%26#39;re from Sydney), actually we were there from Oct 28 thru Nov 10, and Darkbeer is right - it%26#39;s a very interesting time to be there. Our first day in, everything was ';Halloweened'; and then we went to Las Vegas for a night, and did a couple of other things, came back and it was Christmas at Disneyland! Lovely :O) We didn%26#39;t have any probs with ride closures, I don%26#39;t think anything was down for refurb (except Small World for holiday overlay), although the Matterhorn and the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride was down for a bit of the day, but up again by afternoon. We saw everything, and rode everything and had a great time. If you are able, try to go in on a weekend, for the atmosphere, and then a weekday for the ';no crowds'; experience! Have a great trip!
Thanks so much everyone for your help- I really appreciate all your advice!!
we were there last week oct06.best time to go for a number of resasons.no long waits for rides weather is great.pirates, splashmount, indiana, did them all twice.the only ride that was closed was the matterhorn.fireworks were only on the weekend.lots of locals visit dl on weekend can get quite packed.during the week days best time to see dl.overall you will get the full experience .......have fun we did.
yup, its a smallworld will be closed for ten months according to one of their ';castmembers';. supposedly, the boats keep getting stuck because people are fatter than they used to be....not sure if he was messing with us w/ this explanation.
try to book your trip to Disneyland on a weekday---weekends and holidays are super packed!!!!
when shopping at the park %26amp; you are staying at any of the disneyland hotels, you can have your items sent to your hotel--free.
not sure if you have access to it, but eating at some of the restaurants in the park will allow you 10% discount if you have AAA.
You probably already know this, but take advantage of the fast pass.
That is all I can recall for the moment....will post more if anything else comes up.
We went during the week in the first part of November this past year and loved it. Wasn%26#39;t busy, weather was a little cool but very comfortable. Some of the Christmas decorations were up. It was great! You%26#39;ll enjoy.
