Booked Sheraton Park Hotel, across the street from Disneyland. Now travel agent says flights to SNA are no longer available for our dates! We can fly to LAX...
We were not planning to rent a car. Can anyone tell us if its easy to get to Disney area from LAX, and how much it would cost? Should we rent a car for the week? I think the hotel has an $14 per day parking charge though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Disneyland from LAX?
I personally prefer a rental car, you can usually find them under $20 per day at places like Hotwire.com, but as you mentioned, you do have to look at the other fees, including gas and parking.
The rental car lets you have a more flexible visit, and allows you to go shopping, dining and visit other places and attraction.
But if you don%26#39;t get a rental car, you can still do a week at Anaheim.
From LAX, I recommend using the Disneyland Resort Express Airport Bus, the buses run every 30 minutes most of the day. Comfortable seats and a non-stop trip from the Airport to the Anaheim area, when they process payments and vouchers, then send you to your hotel.

Gray Line also has a group of day trips available, some at no extra cost than a full priced admission ticket, such as SeaWorld.
The walk from the Sheraton Park is just under a mile to the Disneyland Resort Main Entrance Plaza, I prefer to walk, but you can also use the ART Shuttle.
There are also plenty of restaurants near the Sheraton Park, including the new Anaheim GardenWalk area.
Disneyland from LAX?
you can also check on flights to Ontario airport. much easier to deal with baggage claim, etc. and about the same drive or easier if you decide to rent a car. don%26#39;t know about the other bus services from ONT
Actually, Long Beach Airport (LGB) is a lot closer to Anaheim than LAX or Ontario (about 20 miles). You don%26#39;t indicate your point of origin but perhaps there are flights that go into LGB from your home. LGB is a tiny airport -- only one terminal, no crowds, no traffic, so if it were me, I%26#39;d try to fly into Long Beach.
Flat rate taxis are available from LGB to the DL area for $36 compared to $28 (for two people) on the bus from LAX. Why wait for a bus and endure the inconvenience of being delayed while other passengers get off at their hotels before the bus reaches the Sheraton, when you can instantly jump in a taxi for $6 more and go direct?
Good luck!
You can also rent a one way car from LAX and return it in Anaheim, and a one way car back to the airport. If you really don%26#39;t think you will need a car while visiting Disney. I compared prices and found this would be cheaper than paying the weekly rate for a car and having to pay for parking where we are staying.
If your working with a travel agent then your agent should offer you the option of adding supershuttle or shuttle express transportation from LAX to your hotel.
There is no point in renting a car if your not going to use it. I would really suggest adding the shuttle service.
The Sheraton Park hotel is on the ART system so you could pay for an ART pass that would give you transportation from the hotel to the Disney parks.
Ask your travel agent.
