Hi
Lookin to know how close to our hotel (Hollywood Downtowner, Hollywood/Western) the following is:
McDonalds
KFC
Burger King
Wendys
Dennys
Not that we are planning a feast of fast foods, but they can be handy, please advice!
Thanks
Dom

All are within about a mile, probably 6 McDonalds and 2 KFC and 3 Burger Kings. Wendy%26#39;s is on Sunset down towards Sunset Strip, Dennys is Sunset and Gower.
How much are you paying per night for that dump? (as Bette Davis called it).

50p a night, I like a dump, its a step up in luxury compared to where i live now
Right on the corner of Hollywood/Western is also a Thai Outdoor food place. It is actually pretty good and dirt cheap
You can not miss it as it has a giant Hot Dog on there roof(dont ask, i know it makes no sense, just go with it,lol)
That place closed a few months ago. Sadly, you can no longer get a hot dog, Thai food and car insurance all at the same time.
Oh really? Ahhh, what a shame.
Btw, there is also a Sizzler in the area which has a all you can eat lunch saladbar(that includes some meatoptions aswell) for $4.99 i think
Great, sounds good, im not scrounging for cheap food, but its always good to have local quick options, especially to soak up the booze that night! I cant wait to get out there, 70 days and counting!
Cheap drinks, now we are talking! Lol.
Btw, a lot of bars during Happy Hour offer cheap food/half prized appetizers and sometimes even free food. So you dont have to do the fast food route every day
Here is my list of Happy Hour places in L.A.

Well, if you%26#39;re insistent on staying at the Downtowner (which I%26#39;m not advising, but to each his own), you are close to a lot of Thai restaurants in Thai Town, most of which are open late on the weekends. There is Palms Thai, home of the Thai Elvis (palmsthai.com), or my fav--Sanamluang Cafe which stays open until 3 AM or later on weekends. Dirt cheap and good. 5176 Hollywood at Kingsley. Has a big green awning that says Best Thai Noodles in Town. About 4 blocks from your hotel, but there are about 25 Thai restaurants in the 4 blocks surrounding your hotel. At least.
Better than Denny%26#39;s for those latenight, drunken munchies. Or the true LA latenight food experiences are bacon-wrapped hotdogs from a sidewalk grill or tacos from a taco truck. Eat at your own risk.
Bacon wrapped hot dogs are the best food invention ever, especially after stumbling half drunk out of a club at 2 in the morning, lol.
The Downtowner suited our budget. I believe its best to spend the money once im there. The hotel is next to the subway and the room has a fridge (for cold beers) and its a good place to sleep and wash, all you need really! I know its not a Loews or something like that, but if you go to Hollywood, do you want to stay in your hotel or visit the amazing places that it has to offer? The reviews for this hotel gave an average rating of 4 out of 5, that rating was from 32 recent vistors, so it cant be all bad! I am very good at spotting budget hotels that meet my needs and my instincts dont let me down on this and ive been bookin holidays for my mates for almost ten years!
Thanks guys for the food ideas, will definately need them, your stomach likes grease when its lined with alcohol!
We dont get happy hour anymore in the UK, its just all expensive now!
