Planning a trip to L.A for September and will be there for 3 nights with only 2 whole days. what are the sights i should really make an effort to see? I am staying at the Magic Caslte Hotel so Walk of Fame area is close by and will be easy to see.
Highlights of L.A
It depends on what you enjoy doing. Different people come to LA for different reasons. Tell us a little bit more about yourself and what you like doing.
There of course is Disneyland (not LA, but nearby in Orange County).
Universal Studios, or other studio tours
Hollywood, Beverly Hills
the Beaches - Malibu, Santa Monica, Venice
Museums - Getty Brentwood, Getty Malibu, Page Museum - La Brea Tar Pits, Huntington Library, plus many other small ones - depending on your interest.
Griffith Observatory
Highlights of L.A
Horseback riding in the Hollywood Hills.
Getty Center and/or Getty Villa.
Huntington Gardens in Pasadena.
El Matador Beach in Malibu.
These are spread out destinations, so to do all of them in 2 days, plus whatever else you want to do, would be a lot of driving. No to mention tiring.
Although, you could go to the Getty Villa one morning, then have a (late) picnic lunch at El Matador and be back in Hollywood for a sunset ride in the Hills. Sounds like a great day!
Please read our FAQs at the top of the LA forums, there are sample itineraries there.
FAQs outline this for you. Walk of Fame take 1 hr to see. You can do it whenever and at night too since your hotel is right there.
Whenever my friends come to town, I recommend the following as not-to-be-missed (btw, will you have a car? You can%26#39;t get to many of these places easily with such a limited amount of time without one):
- the Getty
- Lunch on Sunset Strip
- At least drive through Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills and also drive around the hills of BH and Brentwood
- Santa Monica Main St and Promenade areas
