There are so many Disney experts posting here, I know I will find the answer quickly!
We are visiting Disneyland Sept 13-21st. I%26#39;m wondering if this will be during the time period where the park is transitioning into the Halloween theme and the Haunted Mansion will be closed?
Last year we visited during the Last week of September and the transition to Halloween was already complete. We saw the Haunted Mansion with the Nighmare Before Christmas theme...but I was really hoping to see the ';classic'; ride!!! Since we are returning again this year, I really hope to get the classic HM experience!
Does anyone know when the traditional Haunted Mansion ride closes for the Halloween reopening and how long it stays closed? Any info you have will be appreciated.

Haunted Mansion/Halloweentime conversionFrom everything I can find, it opens October 1st as the holiday version. But I%26#39;m sure that someone with better knowledge will post a for sure answer for you. If tht%26#39;s the case though, it probably shuts down 2 weeks or so prior, I would guess.
I%26#39;m with you in that I prefer the classic version. In the last 3 visits, we%26#39;ve only been able to see the classic version once, and I kind of miss it!
Haunted Mansion/Halloweentime conversionActually, Haunted Mansion will close Tuesday, September 2nd for the switch to the Holiday version.
It is expected to reopen on Friday, September 19th, when Disney will officially start Halloweentime, which will go thru November 2nd.
Wow, perfect timing for us! We will be there on the 21st and will be able to see the holiday version. Have seen the original a lot so I am looking forward to something different!-- Don
