My 9yo dd is very interested in ancient Egyptian history--King Tut, etc. Are there any museums that currently have displays on that area of study? We are coming next month.

ancient Egyptian museum displays?
Thanks! I also found an IMAX movie at the CA Sci Center.
LACMA has a permanent collection of ancient Egyptian art:

Probably, one of the most beautifully displayed collections is at the Getty VILLA (not the Getty CENTER). The Museum is in Malibu, CA, at the western end of the L.A. metro area.
Here is some info (Look at the RIGHT-HAND column entitled the GETTY VILLA -- not the left-hand column, entitled the GETTY CENTER):

You need to make reservations to see this museum. See the above link. Admission is free but parking is $8 (you can use a credit card for this). The museum has a very nice ';sit-down'; restaurant (which is reasonably priced with good food) as well as a ';coffee %26amp; other drinks'; bar with various deserts. A tip about parking: when you enter the parking structure, drive to the top and park at either the very top level, or, even better, the level just below it. This is because the museum is ';up the hill'; from the parking structure so you will be walking from the top levels of the structure to the museum. The ramps to the museum are at the right end of the parking structure (as you enter it). There are elevators at that location in case you are forced to park at the lower levels and have to ';go up'; to get to it.
Have fun!
Great info. Now I%26#39;m going to have to choose, because we only have a few days. You both saved me so much time searching. Thank you!
I haven%26#39;t been to the Getty Villa since they reopened, but they never had Egyptian art in the past. It%26#39;s all Greek and Roman -- perhaps it%26#39;s changed, but I didn%26#39;t see anything on their web site indicating that they have it.
