Sacramento Wedding Reception Location?

My daughter isearching for a wedding reception location for November in Sacramento. We will have approximately 150 guests. There will be a church wedding downtown and my daughter would like a reception site that is sort of non-traditional. She isn%26#39;t interested in the typical boxy reception room, and in November it will be too cold to have an outdoor reception. She has thought of a ';desert reception,'; sort of elegant, or she may go the full meal route. It is important to her that her guests be comfortable and able to relax and socialize. Does anybody have experience with wedding reception locations in Sacramento?? Thank you.

I went to one recently at the Delta King. It was elegant.

I also attended a beautiful reception at the Sterling Hotel.

When looking at the Sterling Hotel (which is a very nice place), also look at their sister facilty the Vizcaya Pavilion (they share the same web site).

I have been there for events in the past, and I am sure your daughter would like it; very romantic.

I am probably too late to suggest locations, however I would recommend the Sacramento Grand Ballroom. Me and my wife had our ceramony and reception there last year. We were married last July and it was over 100 degrees outside but the ballroom was air conditioned and comfortable for our 200 guests.

If you don%26#39;t mind a short drive out of the city, consider the Grand Island Mansion near Walnut Grove. It%26#39;s a beautiful mansion in the middle of nowhere. They do a lot of weddings and receptions. They also have a few rooms for an overnight stay for the wedding party. It%26#39;s beautiful and worth the drive.

Another vote for the Sacramento Grand Ballroom.

It is an old bank built around 1910 with a very high and ornate ceiling. It is a beautiful venue and very roomy.

Try the Lions Gate Hotel and Conference Center. Lovely! It has it%26#39;s own church and over 40,000 sq. feet of meeting space.

    1. I'm really intrigued at the idea of a desert-themed reception, as not a lot of folks would go for that. A white-sand beach with some patches of grass could mimic the desert environment, so you might consider that. If permissible, I'd go so far as to even set up a temporary oasis (by displacing some sand and filling the ditch with water just for the time being) to really get that desert vibe.
