LAX & Transit Times

I am flying into LAX at 7:20am on a Thursday with United for Ted into Terminal 7.

I then have a flight to Honolulu with Continental leaving from Terminal 6 at 9:30am.

Have I left myself enough time?

What is the best way to get between terminals and what time should it take?

What is the chance that the United flight will be on time?

You walk. It will take a few minutes only. You have a big enough window, but customs might take some time.

Why would I be going through customs? Is a flight to Honolulu treated as an international flight?

Sorry, assumed you were coming from Australia. Didn%26#39;t notice you were coming in on Ted, only saw the United part.

2 hours is plenty of time.

Thanks Yogachik

If you go to the united.com website, you should be able to check the ontime percentage for your Ted flight.

As an early post stated, your best way to get from Terminal 7 to Terminal 6 is to walk, even if you have to get a luggage cart. Because of the one way street, the shuttle route from Terminal 7 would have to make a complete loop to Terminals 1-5 before reaching Terminal 6.

I can%26#39;t seem to find the link to that information on United%26#39;s website. Can anyone advise where to find it.

Also, does anyone know if United will check my bags through to a Continental flight to Honolulu?

United will NOT check your bags on to Continental. Also, your TED flight might arrive at terminal 7 or maybe 8 or maybe even 6. I%26#39;ve been on different TED flights that have arrived at each terminal.

First, know that all three terminals are connected - 6, 7 and 8. You can walk between them without having to go through security.

Regarding checked bags, call United and Continental about their bag policy for transfers between flights (if they are not on the same ticket).

If you want to be sure that your bags make it to Honolulu, you may want to find one of those services that ship your bags separately. (I have never used one of these services.) You may even want to send your bag UPS, if your hotel will hold it.

It would cost money, but it may be worth the peace of mind.
